Fire ceremonies everywhere in full swing, and yes I had to decide about taking on the Academy role, and well I have undertaken to do the best I can. This a very difficult task as I want to be as open and honest as I can with those who use this academy I also have to keep it age relevant and also not to bog them down with too much contrasting philosophy.  if you want to how we are developing visit www.witchcraft-school.com.

You might think that this would mean we still make little progress to expand this website, but I don't think that will be the case. I think that in putting more time into education and documenting material I will be able to often see what information is bets for the academy and at the same time select some information that would be helpful to you here. Aqua has taken on a similar role heading up the adult university at www.school-of-witchcraft.com but this is far larger project as it also involves a new library that will be at  www.book-of-shadows.com  and skills centre at www.book-of-shadows.net  this sits in nicely with the TCA main site at www.book-of-shadows.org as well as the enlarging of www.witchpages.com which provides a more collective approach to various material.  this all means that we should see a lot more become available of the next year.

General turmoil continues to exist around how open we should all be with our knowledge and who we can trust. So many fear some new witch hunt, driven on by born again Christians or just the media when there is shortage of news. Since last year I have been drawn more into this discussion, and while a favour more openness, I have to be honest when I say I would not want to put my name and address others know me by on this or any other website. Hedge witches being generally solitary in nature I do not believe have as much to fear as those who belong to larger covens, and perhaps we can be more open than others.

I have been asked to become the head tutor of the Academy of Witchcraft ( www.witchcraft-school.com  ) and am thinking seriously about taking on the challenge. This is the teen craft school being put together by the traditional craft association. I have quite a  few people willing to help, but if you feel that this is something you would like to work on then let me know.

There is a move in some sectors of the traditional craft world towards redefining their modern day role, and areas their craft skills cover. In particular the development of new craft skills associated with what one might call financial affairs. Not perhaps to the same degree as some other paths outside the TCA of selling books, potions and gimmicks but perhaps towards applying concepts from within the craft to produce more income and  to highlight rich opportunities. what do you think about this?

Yes we are still rolling along and no their has been very little progress made to expand this website. Tis shortage of time that has stopped me doing a lot more - anyone have a spell to creat longer days?

So time has been passing as it always does, and we have not made as much progress on this website as many of us had hoped. I had at back and watched to see what would happen without me doing it all myself.

A number of people had promised to write articles, most didn’t get around to it, and I have to admit I’m not one for chasing volunteers.

So I thought, I do occasionally you see, what can I do to get more people to participate, I know a lot of people read the site, as we have site statistics that show very large numbers visiting. How do I get more people to share their knowledge?

Well I thought, I’ll ask Aqua, so I gave him a ring and arranged to go and see him. He picked me up at the station in a car that’s more like something on a space film, with seats, steering wheel and all that moves into place when he get in, all on its own. Large leather seats, and wooden dash, well I felt like a princess, as I was whisked us into country. Arrived at his home, the electric gates open on the drive and we drove in, house large enough to house a number of families, and wildlife running everywhere, rabbits, pheasants, partridges and more all happy in the grounds. I thought I must ask him if its alright to profit personally from knowledge within the craft.

Well we got in, worked out the layout of the place and then sat down for a chat with Aqua, and he said “why not make it easier for people to share knowledge, rather than having to find time to write a full article, so how about adding another message board, where they can teach each other bits of knowledge, and then hover up these bits into the knowledge base” Well I could have thought of that, had a I tried, but he has a point, and we will give it a go. Aqua has also promised he will from time to time also add bits of knowledge to help keep this moving, so perhaps we have an idea that more of you will find you can participate in.

A bit later when he was talking about buying a second house in Niagara Falls (USA) he already has one there, tis a magical place for anyone whose interested in water of course, I brought up the question about personally profiting from the craft, and what is and is not OK, particularly in view of his life style. His view was that while you cannot charge someone for your advice of help within the craft, or selling craft knowledge, you are not taking a vow of poverty, so if you make your own luck that’s fine, but of course if you believe in the rule that whatever you do for or to others is reflected a number of times and you generally help people then, you don’t have to it, all just falls into place. He explained that Water witches have a ritual that allows them to contract with the spirit that multiplied the 3 times rule up to 9 or 27 times, but of course this also meant that you had to be that much more careful of the risk of secondary effects of your actions. Don’t think I am careful enough in what I do or always able to resist the odd side swipe at someone who has done something not so nice to me to risk that myself.

I’m pleased to say I got a lift back to the station in the same car, and well I learnt a lot more than I am sharing here at my audience.  I had visited him several times before but that was at other homes, one I went to at a large indoor heated pool, and a butler, but that’s another story.

Well following his advice I have now added a new discussion board and well its down to you as well as me to make sure we add useful stuff to it.
